Quien va a Santiago y no al Salvador, visita al criado pero no a su Señor

It is said that those go to to Santiago but not to Salvador (Oviedo), visit the servant and not the lord.  If you don’t want Santiago to get all the glory, consider turning North from León and to make your way to Oviedo.

The journey is about 100km, and if you would like to continue from Oviedo to Santiago it is a simple matter of joining the Camino Primitivo or the Camino del Norte from Oviedo.
